Master in Computer Application is one of the oldest programs of the University. It was established in the year 1993, in College of Engineering and Technology under Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology. In the past 30 years, the program has developed manifold and undergone many changes such as from 3 years program to a 2 years program. The very fact that only the top rankers of the OJEE are eligible to study in this department speaks tons about the importance of the program in the state educational scenario. The program is committed to impart quality education in the field of Computer Science, a field growing in leaps and bounds. The curriculum is so made that the course provides a good theoretical foundation through high-quality teaching complemented by extensive practical training. It is dedicated to the mission of inculcating value-based, socially committed professionalism to the cause of overall development of students and society. This program comprises of six number of regular faculty members (most of them with doctorate degrees) and are actively involved in research and in carrying out projects besides teaching. To keep in touch with the ever-growing technology, the faculty members participate regularly in refresher courses and symposia conducted by various universities and research institutions. The students are provided with ample opportunities to improve their organizational skills and group dynamics. They are motivated to handle seminars and to participate in group discussions. Under the School of Computer Sciences, apart from emphasizing on consistent and good academic performance, the students are encouraged to participate in the co-curricular and extra- curricular activities to bring out their talents. The school has state-of-the-art laboratories to meet the international standards of education for the program. Modern computing facilities and high-speed LAN connection, engineering software packages, and audio-visual facilities are available. Each classroom is equipped with an LCD projector. The program has a huge alumni network includes top class software professionals, bankers, academicians, entrepreneurs, and people from various other fields. The placement record for this program bears the testimony of its dedication and determination. The program has already produced thousands of computer professionals and most of them are very well settled and contributing to the economy and society. Observing the success story of the program since last 30 years, the intake and in house placement ratio, the Govt. has recently increased its intake from 30 to 40. The program has proved its successful existence by providing a dream professional career to the students of the state after their graduation.
