Dr.Pradhan is an accomplished researcher and educator specializing in solid mechanics, weld mechanics, and the application of machine learning techniques in welding and biomechanics. He has completed his Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where his thesis focused on reducing weld residual stress in stiffened plates using post-weld vibration techniques.
With a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from IIEST Shibpur and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT Burla, Dr. Pradhan has a strong foundation in Mechanical engineering and Applied Mechanics.
Having more than 6 years of academic experience, Dr. Pradhan is passionate about mentoring under graduate and post-graduate students, supervising various research projects. His research contributions are evident in numerous publications in international journals and conferences.
His research interests lie at the intersection of solid mechanics and advanced manufacturing processes, with a particular focus on welding mechanics and residual stress analysis. He is keen on exploring the application of machine learning techniques to various engineering physics. His work includes studying the effects of vibration on weld residual stress reduction in various structural configurations, specifically in marine and aerospace applications.
Additionally, he has a strong interest in biomechanics, particularly the design and analysis of patient-specific implants for the human cervical spine. This involves utilizing finite element analysis to understand stress distribution and mechanical behavior in biological systems.
