Dr.
Achyutananada Acharya received his post-graduate degree, M. Sc. in Chemistry,
from Utkal University, Odisha, in 1987. He did his Post-B.Sc. Diploma in
Computer Applications from Utkal University, Odisha, in 1988. He qualified for
the National Eligibility Test (NET) (lectureship) jointly conducted by CSIR-UGC
in 1990. He got his Ph.D. degree in chemistry in 1994 from Utkal University,
Odisha. He was awarded a SERC visiting fellowship and a BOYSCAST fellowship
sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government . of India.
He was awarded the Young Chemist Award by the Odisha Chemical Society in 2003.
He continued at CET, BBSR (now converted to OUTR, BBSR) as an Assistant Professor
from 2007 and was promoted to the post of Professor in Chemistry in 2016. He
has discharged duties in various administrative and financial positions.
Currently, he is continuing as Dean, Academic Affairs of the University.
The
topics of research include the synthesis, characterisation, and kinetic studies
of transition metal complexes. In addition, our current research interest is
aslo focused on the synthesis, characterisation, and applications of
nanometrials in the broad areas of sensing, healthcare, energy
applications, etc. He guided three Ph.D. students, and another three students
are continuing their Ph.D. work under his guidance. He has published more than
54 international and national peer-reviewed journals and attended many national
and international conferences.
Research Interests: Materials Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Computational Chemistry.
